How it works
Install the desktop app free. You do not need an account or card.
Choose the folders miyo can use. You can also save your ChatGPT and Claude chats as markdown.
Local agents use the bundled miyo CLI for free. ChatGPT and Claude connect through Relay, our MCP connector.
The desktop app
Point miyo at your Obsidian vault or any folder. Now Claude, ChatGPT, or any other AI can read and write your own files, and they stay on your computer.
Local folders you add for miyo to read as context. Searchable from any AI tool.

Pick up the Lisbon trip I planned in ChatGPT. Let's flesh out the Sintra day.
Your Day 4 was already Sintra. Take the early train from Rossio (~40 min), hit Pena Palace first to beat the crowds, then Quinta da Regaleira, lunch in Sintra Vila.
Semantic search
A local agent reads one file at a time. Point your AI at miyo and it searches hundreds at once, across your books, articles, and notes in any language. Then it answers from what it finds.
What actually caused the fall of the Roman Empire?
across your books, articles, and notes · matched by meaning
Historians point to a mix of causes rather than one. Borders grew too long to defend, rulers rose and fell in quick succession, heavy taxes and a shrinking workforce strained the economy, and the empire slowly split into western and eastern halves. The pressures built up over centuries.
Searches by meaning, not keywords. PDF and EPUB today, with more formats coming soon.
Turn on the connection and ChatGPT and Claude reach your miyo library over an encrypted tunnel. The same context is available in every chat.
Reach your library from the web, or point local agents at it.

miyo works with ChatGPT and Claude through Relay, and with Codex, Claude Code, Hermes, OpenClaw, and OpenCode on your computer.
“Miyo lets me index super large vaults that would crash anything else, and the retrieval quality is far superior. It's a genius product.”
“Smooth, fast back-and-forth with Claude on my phone, using my Obsidian vault as a 'second brain' I can reach at all times.”
“I can read and write to my vault through Claude mobile and Claude AI. The same context follows me across each interface, and I can pull useful chat notes back into my vault.”
The miyo desktop app and local-agent access stay free. Try Relay with ChatGPT or Claude for 7 days, then choose a plan starting at $4.99/month.

The free miyo browser extension saves your own ChatGPT and Claude conversations to your computer as plain markdown. You export the files and keep them.
You can also point miyo at any folder on your disk: notes, research, screenshots, code, or an Obsidian vault. Plain markdown files work too, and miyo reads and searches your PDFs and EPUBs today, with more formats coming soon.
Those folders become context for Codex, Claude Code, Hermes, OpenClaw, and OpenCode and any other local MCP agent you use.
The desktop app includes the miyo CLI. Local agents such as Codex, Claude Code, Hermes, OpenClaw, and OpenCode can call it directly to use the context you have added to miyo. The connection stays on your computer and does not require Relay.
Relay adds the ChatGPT and Claude connection. Their web and mobile apps can reach your local miyo folders remotely, so the same context is available across chats. Prioritized support is included.
ChatGPT's memory lives in ChatGPT. miyo keeps the workspace on your computer and makes it available across the AI tools you choose. Switch from ChatGPT to Claude and the new tool can pick up the same context.
Only the folders you choose. miyo skips the rest of your computer and keeps those files local. The folders you select are the boundary.
Brevilabs does not store or inspect your file content. Local agent connections stay on your computer. When you use Relay, a specific request and response travel through an authenticated, encrypted tunnel. We keep operational data such as connection timing and daily tool-call counts, never filenames, queries, or file content. Read the full details in our privacy policy.
The desktop app and local-agent access are free with no account or card. The separate 7-day Relay trial also requires no card.
The seven days begin when you click Start free trial. You will see that prompt after signing in from the Connect tab in miyo Desktop, or while connecting miyo in ChatGPT or Claude. No card is required.
miyo runs a small local server on your computer. ChatGPT and Claude reach it through miyo relay over an encrypted tunnel, using the standard protocol they support for outside tools. You sign in to miyo relay, link the AI once, and it can read from your miyo folders during chats. The computer running miyo needs to stay on.
The desktop app keeps working. You lose the ChatGPT/Claude connection until you resubscribe. Your data stays where it is, in files on your computer.
miyo is a small tray app. It reads files in the folders you chose when an AI asks for them. The rest of your computer stays out of scope.
Download miyo and point it at a folder. Add relay later if you want ChatGPT or Claude to reach that workspace.
